Mental Health Counseling
Access to trusted counseling resources through CIVC's VA and health partners.
What's included
CIVC connects veterans with mental health counseling through the VA's Peoria Vet Center and regional health partners, so getting help doesn't mean starting a search from zero.
Counseling is treated as part of a veteran's overall plan, not a separate errand, coordinated alongside housing, health, and financial support through the Health and Wellness Collaborative.
Why Veterans Need Mental Health Support
- Address unique stressors veterans face (transition, isolation, service-related trauma)
- Statistics on veteran mental health challenges
- Normalize seeking help within veteran community
Taking Care of every detail
Untreated mental health issues are a leading cause of veteran homelessness. A veteran struggling with PTSD, depression, or substance use can't maintain employment, pay rent, or keep relationships stable. That's why CIVC doesn't separate these services.
Your counselor knows about your housing goals. Your case manager knows about your mental health progress. Your employment specialist understands your triggers. One team, one plan, one outcome: your stability.
Mental wellness is the foundation. Housing is the structure. Together, they create the life you deserve.
