Tiny Homes for Veterans

A mortgage-free, permanent home, built and dedicated directly to a veteran in need.

How it works

CIVC builds compact, durable homes and delivers them to qualifying veterans free of a mortgage. Partnering with the organization 2x4’s for Hope, CIVC builds fully furnished 576-square-foot tiny homes for at-risk and homeless veterans in Lincoln. Each home is dedicated to one veteran, in order, so the record of homes delivered is a running account of the program's progress rather than a promise.

Two homes have been delivered so far: Scott Jackson received the first home in August 2021 at the corner of College and 6th Street in Lincoln, Illinois, and Dave Hennessey received the second in May 2022.

Who qualifies

The program is built for Central Illinois veterans who need stable housing and are ready to take part in the wraparound support that comes with it. Interested veterans can start with the application linked below.

We build more than homes—we build futures. Every 576-square-foot tiny home is a promise fulfilled, a life transformed, and a veteran honored.
